Description

"People often ask me for a basic or introductory book on covenant theology. Now we've got one ... (they) explain covenant theology in basic and readable terms. Better yet, they do so without succumbing to the tendency to talk down to the reader or make the complicated too simplistic ...

This book does many things well, but perhaps the most important thing it does is that it will help people to better understand their Bibles. That, it seems to me, is what makes this book so valuable.

And that is why you should buy it, read it, and digest it. To understand covenant theology is to understand the Bible." ---Dr. Kim Riddlebarger

Wow! This is such a marvellous explanation about what we as Reformed Christians need to understand to begin to delve into the endless blessings of what is termed "covenant theology". It has whetted my appetite, enough to even purchase the book! The numerous Bible verses to study within each chapter are worth having the book on my shelf! I loved the clarity about each covenant, since the well known book by Robertson, I'm afraid, is just too technical for me to grasp.(I have that book if anyone wants to borrow it..) Since covenantal teaching is part and parcel with all we believe about Christ, it ought to have a huge impact on how we read the whole Bible, including how to comprehend more teachings from the pulpit. The authors set forth many teachings stemming from a lack of understanding the purposes for which each covenant was instituted. The chapters end with applications as well as self directed questions to see how much you comprehended. I consider this a good place for all Reformed believers to "cut their teeth"! If this were true, many misunderstandings of this most vital area of theology could be avoided. But even the well studied person will be enriched in their knowing how to explain each covenant to those who have questions. A must read in my opinion!
